An experimental dryer was developed for determining the moisture content of slab woods in variable drying times. Moisture contents were examined using different models. The drying data were fitted to the different semi–theoretical models such a Lewis, Page, new modified page, and Henderson and Pabis. Among the results obtained, the high level of correlation between the measured and calculated data justifies the new modified Page model.<\div>

The main objective of this study is to evaluate the mechanical properties of Expanded polystyrene (EPS) concretes containing silica fume and rice husk ash as supplementary cementitious materials reinforced with different volume fractions of polypropylene fibers. The effects of using EPS aggregates and polypropylene fibers on hardened state characteristics of concretes containing silica fume and rice husk ash were evaluated. The obtained results shows improvements in some mechanical properties of EPS concretes by using polypropylene fibers in matrix, mainly inenergy absorption capability.<\div>

A mathematical model was developed for optimization of heat and mass transfer in capillary porous media during drying process to predict the drying constants. The modeling equations verified the experimental results and proved to be an important tool in predicting the drying rate under different drying conditions.<\div>
