Ceramics are one of the important engineering materials, whichhave a lot of Great characteristics. The low toughness of these materials has limited their applications. Different studies have shown that nano–composite ceramics with fine particles within the matrix grain and along the grain boundaries can acquire high toughness. In this work the densification behavior and microstructural development of a 10 vol.% silicon carbide dispersed alumina nano–composite were studied by incorporatingnano–size MgO particles as grain refiner.Green samples with different amount of MgO were densified using hotpress sintering at 1750oC for 1, 1.5 and 2 hours. It was observed that the best densification properties was obtained using 0.01 vol.% MgO as grain refiner and the best sintering condition was at 1750oC for 1 hour and the pressure of 30 Mpa.<\div>
