The influence of organoclay (OC) loading on the properties of low density polyethylene (LDPE)\ethylenevinyl acetate (EVA) blend was investigated. A series of samples with and without OC was prepared using the melt mixing method. In these samples the content of EVA was varied between 0–30 wt parts while the content of OC in the case of nanocomposites was kept to be 5 wt parts. X–ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microcopy (SEM), theoretical approach based on interfacial energies, rheological and mechanical properties were utilized to analyze thecharacteristic of the LDPE\EVA blend with and without OC. Morphological analysis along with rheological and mechanical characterization revealed that OC is mainly dispersed in the EVA phase, even though a few is likely present in the LDPE phase as agglomerates.<\div>
