۱Study the Effect of Aramid Fibers on Mechanical and Tribological Properties of Polyacetal

Engineering Plastics are widely used in tribological applications. Polyacetal (POM) is an engineering plastic of high performance with high mechanical strength, and proper mold–ability. However, it does not satisfy tribological requirements in pure form, so fillers are used to enhance its properties for tribological applications. In this study, Aramid fibers were selected as additives for POM. The POM\Aramid fiber composites were prepared by melt mixing and some tests such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), uniaxial tension, friction and wear were performed to study the correlation between physical–mechanical and tribological properties. SEM micrographs showed good dispersion of fibers in polymeric matrix, and the results of other tests showed that Aramid fibers improved the mechanical and tribological properties of POM<\div>
