The electrochemical behavior of a modified carbon paste electrode (MCPE) with copper(I) oxide nanoparticles was investigated as a new sensor for metionine. The Cyclic voltammogram of copper(I) oxide nanoparticles modified carbon paste electrode (Cu2O\CPE) showed a reversible voltammogram. Electrocatalytic oxidation of metionine is studied in phosphate buffer solution at neutral pH=7.0( and the effect of concentration, scan rate and pH studies were made. The sensor process was found to be diffusion controlled. At pH=7.0 the catalytic peaks current were linearly depend on metionine concentrations in the range of 5×10 5− to 5.0 ×10 –7 M metionine, using DPV. The detection limits for metionine were 9.0×10 –7M.<\div>

A carbon–paste electrode (CPE) chemically modified with multi wall carbon nanotube as a sensor and Cu2 O nanoparticles as a mediator was used as a electrochemical sensor for sensitive and highly selective voltammetric determination of metionine. This modified electrode showed very efficient electrocatalytic activity for anodic oxidation of metionine. In optimal conditions, linear ranges spanned a metionone concentration from 0.5 μM to150.0 μM and the detection limit was 0.7 μM at a signal–to–noise ratio of 2 . In addition, the sensor had good stability and reproducibility.<\div>
