A three dimensional, analytical, micro–mechanical model is presented based on extension of the Simplified Unit Cell (SUC) Model. In order to have a more realistic representative volume element (RVE), the RVE of the SUC model is divided into r*c sub–cells. The appropriate governing equations of the unidirectional composites as a heterogeneous media are obtained using theory of elasticity with simplified assumptions. The model is employed to determine overall elastic and thermal properties of unidirectional Metal Matrix Composites (MMC). The model can be used for any combination of thermal and mechanical, normal and shear, loadings. The predicted overall elastic properties of SiC\Ti composite system show good agreement with both finite element (FE) and other analytical models.<\div>

The idea of the simplified unit cell (SUC) model [1] is used to study mechanical and thermal characterizations of porous materials. The representative volume element (RVE) of the model consists of r×c×h unit cells in three dimensions in which voids are surrounded by metal cells.
The two dimensional version of the model includes r×c unit cells in the x–y plane with unit thickness which is used to obtain results for lotus–type porous media. It is shown that the presented model is general and can be used to predict the behavior of a porous media subjected to thermal and mechanical, normal and shear, loading. Results for the overall thermal and elastic properties of various porous materials show good reement with both experimental data and other analytical models available in the literature.<\div>

Bending analysis of thick laminated cylindrical panels with various boundary conditions is studied using Generalized Differential Quadrature (GDQ) method. Based on the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT), the governing equations of the problem include a system of fifteen first order partial differential equations consist of five equilibrium and ten constitutive equations in terms of unknown displacements, forces and moments. Presence of all panel variables in the governing equations provides a simple procedure to satisfy different boundary condition during application of the GDQ. The method provides accurate results with relatively small number of grid points. Various combinations of clamped, simply supported and free boundary condition are given to demonstrate the accuracy and convergence of the presented technique. Results are compared with those in the open literature and reasonably good agreement is achieved.<\div>

۴Degradation of C. I. Basic Blue 41 using modified TiO2 nanocomposite in a Rectangular Semibatch Photoreactor

The aim of this work was to investigate effect of operational parameters on the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of a solution containing C. I. Basic Blue 41 BB41 in a recirculated rectangular photoreactor irradiated with a UV light. TiO_2 nano composite film was prepared via sol–gel dip coating method. The films were characterized by X–ray diffraction XRD, transmission electron microscopy TEM, scanning electron microscopy SEM and atomic force microscopy AFM. Initial concentration of BB41 10–50 〖mg L〗^–1, flow rate 6–15 〖L.h〗^–1 and temperature 20–40℃ were the variables that mostly influenced the degradation efficiency. The results showed that the removal efficiency decreases as the initial concentration and flow rate increases, but it increases when the temperature increased. The mineralization of BB41 was followed by UV–vis analyses changes and chemical oxygen demand COD decrease. The results indicated 92.943 mineralization of 25 〖mg L〗^–1 dye at after.2h of UV irradiation.

۵A New Skewed–Rotor–Pole Switched Reluctance Motor Design

This paper considers a new switched reluctance motor (SRM) structure aiming at high starting torque with low volume. For some applications such as EVs (Electrical Vehicles), the motor volume and starting torque is a critical point in its design. In many methods, reducing the motor volume causes reduction in starting torque and decreases the motor efficiency. Unlike conventional SRMs, the rotor pole is skewed in the proposed structure along the motor axis. An approximated two–dimensional finite element method (FEM) is used to speed up computational time and some comparisons with three–dimensional FEM are considered for more reliability. Final results show the efficiency of the proposed structure.
