۱Experimental Investigation of Phase Inversion in a Hanson Mixer–Settler
اطلاعات انتشار: ششمین کنگره بین المللی مهندسی شیمی، سال
تعداد صفحات: ۷
The phase inversion behavior of a pilot scale Hanson mixer–settler extraction column with seven stages has been investigated experimentally. The effects of agitation speed, interfacial tension and aqueous phase viscosity on phase inversion have been investigated. The results show that the organic phase holdup decreases with an increase in agitation speed. It was found that the width of ambivalent range increases with an increase in interfacial tension. The ambivalent range also shifted downward with an increase in aqueous phase viscosity. An empirical correlation is derived for prediction of ambivalent range in terms of operating conditions and physical properties of the systems. The predictions agree well with experimental data of the ambivalent range.<\div>

۲Uranium Recovery from Isfahan’s UCF Plant Solid Waste Using a Pulsed Sieve–Plate Column

During UF6 production in Isfahan’s UCF plant, liquid waste containing uranium compounds, is directed to evaporation lagoons. Gradually, a considerable amount of precipitation will form at the bottom of the lagoons. Uranium concentration in this precipitation is in the order of a few weight percent. So it seems that uranium recovery from this waste is not only economically advantageous, but also environmentally protective. In this study, uranium extraction via solvent extraction process and by means of di–(2–ethyl hexyl)phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) as extractant, is first studied in batch scale to optimize the extraction parameters and then the data is used on a pilot plant which is a pulsed column with sieved trays to optimize the operational parameters of the column<\div>

۳Uranium Recovery from Wastewater using Tri–n–octyl amine and Di–2 ethyl hexyl phosphoric acid
اطلاعات انتشار: هفتمین کنگره ملی مهندسی شیمی، سال

In this work, Extraction of uranium from laboratory wastewater has been investigated experimentally.Uranium is the important element in the nuclear fuel cycle and recovery of this element from wasteproduction is very important from economical and environmental point of views. The uranium wastewas characterized and based on the ions in the waste, suitable solvent and diluent was selected. The experiments were carried out at different conditions. The extraction parameters including extractant concentration, temperature and organic to aqueous phase ratio was investigated. Optimal condition of uranium recovery from waste also was determined.<\div>

۴EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF CO2 CHEMICAL ABSORPTION IN A RANDOMLY PACKED COLUMN
اطلاعات انتشار: دومین همایش ملی تکنولوژی های نوین در شیمی و پتروشیمی، سال

Nowadays, separation of acid gases, in particular carbon dioxide (CO2) from flue gas of the fossil fuel–fired power plants is of great importance owing to decrease global warming and its aversive environmental effects. Chemical absorption into reactive solvents is generally considered as an effective and most mature separation technology for this purpose. In this paper, CO2 chemical absorption into aqueous solutions of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) has been experimentally investigated in a lab–scale randomly packed bed column. The effect of operating conditions on the amount of absorption flux has been studied. The results show that by increasing the concentration and also flow rate of the solvent, absorption flux has increased. However, increase in the solvent temperature has decreased the absorption flux.<\div>
