An architectural element can be useless even harmful for human comfort zone while it is essential in different climate. Absorbing much rate of solar energy in a cold and frozen climate is not architectural aim in hot–arid climate. In this paper, cooling techniques of a traditional icebox in desert of Iran–Meymand has been compared with a traditional mosque in cold climate of Tabriz city. Their element distances and heights have been analysed using of quantitative andgraphical methods. A graphical diagram presented after computing critical zones for different climates by sun pathdiagram. Finally, this paper did assert the compatibility of long barrier in front of southern aspect of Meymand`s icehouse and short dome of Blue mosque in front of its main dome<\div>

Shading has a dual usage during architectural designing. Exposing buildings on the sun or its shading depends on climatic conditions and elements form. In this paper a model of dome and a cube have been supposed as a barrier to compute the rate of shading depth on the ground or surrounded buildings that is the most effective parameter about wasting or obtaining solar energy. General models have been implemented to define mathematical equation of a building shape in Iran–Tabriz latitude. Subsequently, the shading area around the dome and cube computed according to the solar–time and forms height. The method of Hann window equation used to estimate sun path in latitude 37°N. At last, this paper did compare the effects of different forms in different climates to reach a sustainable environment by computing the limits of forms shadow.<\div>
