۱Performance Analysis of Hierarchical Control of a Power System subject to Communication Failures

In this paper, the effects of communication link failure in hierarchical control of large scale power systems are studied. Due to the complexity of an analytical approach, a linguistic model is preferred and a set of fuzzy rules has been generated to enable the prediction of coordinator performance on the many different operational conditions. It has been tried to consider the major parameters of large scale power systems which have a distinctive role in this overall performance and specifically the coordination. Simulation results show that in normal communication conditions of the system, if a link is disconnected, the coordination time should be equal or greater than the time constant of the system to avoid steady state error. However, in abnormal conditions, it's better to have short coordination times to achieve acceptable performance.<\div>

۲Optimal control of singular large–scale linear systems

This paper states the hierarchical strategy of singular large–scale linear system in which, the system is composed of singular linear subsystems with interconnection. The two–level optimization conditions based on Interaction Prediction Method (IPM) are derived such that each isolated subsystem is optimized. Based on the classical optimization and relevant theories, a nonlinear state feedback controller is designed for each subsystem, such that the whole closed loop singular largescale system is optimized. Finally, a numerical example is given to confirm the analytical results and illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.<\div>

۳Automatic Paint Defect Detection and Classification of Car Body

Nowadays on line automatic inspection plays animportant role in industrial quality management. This paperproposes a new computer vision system for automatic paintedcar body inspection in the context of quality control inindustrial manufacturing. In most worldwide automotiveindustries, the inspection process is still mainly performed byhuman vision, and thus, is insufficient and costly. Therefore,automatic paint defect inspection is required to reduce thecost and time waste caused by defects. This new systemanalyzes the images sequentially acquired from car body todetect different kinds of defects. Initially, defects are detectedand localized by using a joint distribution of local binarypattern (LBP) and rotation invariant measure of the localvariance (VAR) operators and next, detected defects areclassified into different defect types by using Bayesianclassifier. The results show that this method could detectdefects and classify them with high accuracy. Because of itssimplicity, online implementation is possible as well.<\div>

۴Maglev Vehicle\Guideway Interaction Model Considering Air gap Optimal Control

This paper presents an integrated model incorporating maglev vehicle\ guideway interaction and proceeds to design an optimal control scheme for the air gap adjustment as an important factor. Firstly, the motion dynamic model of a maglev including a 6 DOF vehicle and the roughness model of guideway is established in the state space. The roughness is assumed to be a non–white stationary random process in the spatial domain. Then, the optimal controller is designed. Finally, the coupled model is simulated via MATLAB software and as a case study German Transrapid08 high speed maglev is considered. The simulation results are very promising.<\div>

۵Battery Management in Integrated Energy System using Robust Model Predictive Control

Renewable energy become a larger player among emerging smart electrical grid and due to the intermitted nature of renewable energy systems and fluctuating demand profiles, call for storage solutions and appropriate control strategies are necessary. So, the battery management system (BMS) is a main component of hybrid energy system and makes an important role in development of storage systems. In this work, we propose a BMS to guarantee charge and discharge control under different environmental conditions that is much harder to predict and it poses a challenge to the implementation of desired state of the charge for battery. Since forecasts never are prefect, to evaluation the state of a battery, robust model predictive control (RMPC) is used. Simulations are carried to illustrate and comparison applicability of open loop and close loop RMPC for keeping state of a battery at desirable level with respect to uncertainties that affected the battery bank system.<\div>
