According to the recent studies, corruption in a society, emanating from the existence of asymmetrical and monopolistic information, is seen as one of the most systematicimpediments to economic development. Based on a hypothesis tested in the developed countries, ICT applications, through information dissemination and establishment of egovernments,leads to more transparency and less corruption, though there have beendoubts about its effectiveness in reducing corruption in the developing countries. In thepresent study, the validity of this hypothesis is tested using dynamic panel data method inthe Asian developing countries during 2000–2010. The results confirm the links between ICT applications and corruption reduction in the countries of the study. Yet, the results obtained indicate that this relationship is stronger than what previous studies suggested. Also, the study results show the resilient nature of corruption in the selected countries.<\div>

The reliance of Iran's handmade carpet traders and producers on the traditional business practices and their distrust of the internet and e–commerce is an important cause to blame forthe recent decline in the share of the Iranian carpet export in the world market. The paper briefly discusses the importance of e–commerce, outlines its advantages and disadvantages and emphasizes its effects on Persian handmade carpet as one of the main industries of Iran.The research method is based on investigating inter–organizational strengths and weaknesses, and external–organizational opportunities and threats. According to conducted studies, launching business information networks in order to increase carpet exporters awareness ofthe new e–business practices, motivating carpet producers and exporters through increasing government supports to the carpet industry, reducing custom clearance processes for buyers through Iran membership in WTO, application of advanced technology to enhance the qualityof products, using information technology in marketing and internet advertisement, are the most important factors that impact Iranian carpet industry’s success in e–commerce.<\div>

۳Review of renewable energy industry in Iran and Taiwan

Unlike hydrocarbon energies, renewable energy (RE) is developed from resources which are constantly replenished and will never run out. This paper assesses the status of renewable energy in Iran and Taiwan. Iran has a great capacity in the field of oil and gas, while Taiwan imports about 97.5% of its energy, which is vital to the rapidly industrializing economy. Our studies show that, during late decades, Taiwan has had good improvements in clean energy industry. On the other hand, although Iran has had some movements in this field, in accordance with plenty of potentialities in the field of green energy, there are lots of opportunities in developing this industry in Iran. For this reason, Iran should concentrate more on RE industry. In the end, some advice has been given to Iran to improve its RE industry.

۴Studying the Effects of Information and Communication Technology on the Performance of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Iran

Information and communication technology (ICT) in today’s developing world, is on the assets and necessities for development and growth of companies, especially for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) which play an important role in the economy of each and every country and are capable of bringing about results like effectiveness, profitability, decreasing trading costs, better marketing and customer orientation. In this article, we have studied the effect of ICT investment and usage on the performance of small and medium sized enterprises in the selected districts using panel data method. The aforementioned enterprises were consisted of 10 to 49 staffed enterprises in those districts in the years of 1998–2009. Results show that ICT usage and investment have a positive effect on the performance of small and medium sized enterprises. Moreover, considering the results of our approximation, it is obvious that ICT investment has a lower profit ratio in short term as opposed to that of the other production factors<\div>
