One of the safety–critical systems in railway transportation is route setting which is a subsystem of railway signaling. In this system, reliability and availability evaluation in a quantitative manner is becoming very important. In this paper R&A (Reliability and Availability) analysis is done on this system using Fault Tree Analysis and based on Monte Carlo Simulation. After that some recommendations are proposed to improve the system R&A and they are analyzed to show the improvement.<\div>
