۱Multi–scale domain decomposition method for analysis of large structure

The domain decomposition method provides a good approach to solve large–scale structural problems. In this paper, we present a multi–scale domain decomposition method, based on the FETI–DP solver. This method is used herein for large–scale structural problems with application to passenger ship structure analysis. The multi–scale aspect is introduced by the description of subdomains with fine and coarse scale meshes. This approach is named as the FETI–DP micro–macro. Using this strategy raises several problems: determination of the stiffness of coarse subdomains, and connection between coarse and fine subdomains (with incompatible meshes on the interface between these subdomains). Two approaches (collocation and Mortar) are considered and are compared. The proposed method is validated by the “patch test” for macro stiffness and the micro and macro subdomains connection. Once the patch test is qualified, we applied the proposed method to several more complex structures. The obtained numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach and reveal that the Mortar method is more accurate than the collocation method.<\div>
