۱Some investigations on microbial de–emulsification of water–in–oil emulsions

A new strain isolated from a petroleum contaminated site of Siri island was able to de–emulsify a surfactant–stabilized water–in–oil emulsions. De–emulsification increased with contact time and maximum activity (about 96.4%) was occurred at stationary phase after 48 h. De–emulsification activity of this strain was attributed to cell surface biopolymers. The isolate shown higher de–emulsifying activity by consuming glucose and molasses rather than crude oil and hexadecane as carbon sources. The produced de–emulsifier was thermal stable and the culture activity was observed after autoclaving at 120 ○C. This paper describes briefly isolation a relatively powerful microbial de–emulsifier and investigates the effect of various carbon sources, and some properties of the separated de–emulsifiers.<\div>
