۱An improved correlation for density of compressed liquid of Nitrogen Tetroxide

An accurate improved correlation has been developed for the density of liquid nitrogen tetroxide (N2O4). The correlation is applicable over a wide range of temperatures (from boiling point up to critical temperature) and pressures (atmospheric up to 400 bar). The proposed improved correlation is derived of Chueh – Prausnitz model. This proposed model is using saturated density or molar volume, ρs or Vs, in the Hankinson – Thomson model. Ability of this model are compared to other models and showed. When tested against a data base of 129 points of liquid density for nitrogen tetroxide, the proposed correlation gave an average absolute errors (AAD %) of 0.492% compared to 6.472, 6.428, 1.908, 2.888, 4.644, 3.400 and 1.72 percent for Soave–Redlich–Kwong EOS, Peng–Robinson EOS, Aalto–Chang–Zhao, Aalto–Keskinen, Chueh – Prausnitz, Hankinson–Brobst–Thomson and yen–Woods models respectively.<\div>

۲Chemical Destruction of Unsymmetrical DimethylHydrazine in Industrial Waste Water

As unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH) is a highly toxic substance, special care has to be taken for personal and environmental protection when working on it. A simple and reliable method for UDMH removal and decreasing its hazardous is chemical decomposition reactions. At this work a number of chemical reactions on the base of UDMH oxidation in acidic media have been studied for decomposition and elimination of UDMH from industrial waste water. It has been cleared that decomposition with sodium hypochlorite or calcium hypochlorite in hydrochloric acid media (pH=2– 3) is the best one. Another advantage of oxidative destruction of UDMH by excess molar ratio of Ca(OCl)2 is producing safer and no carcinogens substances. This reaction mainly leads to formaldehyde dimethylhydrazone and tetramethyl tetrazene, but not to N–nitroso dimethyl amine (a carcinogen compound).<\div>
