Semi–active vibration control devices using non–linear methods have experienced significant devel–opment in recent years, due to their advantages compared with passive and active techniques. More precisely, semi–active pulse–switching technique, leads to a very good trade–off between simplicity, required power supply and performance. Different materials such as piezoelectric or magnetostric–tive materials (MsM) are used in this technique as smart actuators. In MsM–based semi–active pulse–switching technique the inverting switch triggers on each extremum of the pick–up coil cur–rent produced by magnetostrictive effect which leads to energy dissipation. There is an important question in all vibration control techniques, which is about damping performance for different ex–ternal excitations. In this paper using a theoretical model, resulted damping for almost all of the external excitations using the MsM–based semi–active pulse–switching technique is presented and numerical results show a significant damping for almost all excitation types<\div>
