۱Syntheses and characterization of CdCO3 and CdO nanoparticles by using a sonochemical method

Nanoparticles of CdCO3 were synthesized by the reaction of Cd(CH3COO)2 and tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) by a sonochemical method. The CdO nanoparticles were obtained by heating of CdCO3 nanoparticles at 400°C. The CdCO3 and CdO nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X–ray powder diffraction (XRD), TGA, DTA and FT–IR spectroscopy.<\div>

Two new mixed–ligands CdII complexes of trans–1,2–bis(4–pyridyl)ethene (bpe) with 1,3–di(4–pyridyl)propane (bpp) and 1,10–phenanthroline (phen),Cd(phen)(2)(bpe)(H(2)O)](ClO(4))(2). H(2)O (1) and [Cd(bpp)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2). bpe. H(2)O (2) havebeen synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR,(1)H NMR and (13)C NMRspectroscopy and studied by thermal as well as X–ray crystallography. The structural study of 1 show the compound is monomeric with coordination environments ofdistorted octahedral CdN5O and mononuclear Units further liked into a hydrogenbondeddimmer via intermolecular N…O interactions. The single crystal X–ray analysis of 2 Shows that the complex is a one–dimensional polymer as a result ofbridging two 1, 3–di (4–pyridyl) propane (bpp) ligands. The one–dimensional Chains are further self–assembled into a three–dimensional network with channels by mixedbridges of free bpe molecules and Hydrogen–bonded 8–membered rings based on free water molecules and ClO4 _ anions.<\div>

۳The effect of various curing compounds on the flexural strength characteristic of Roller Compacted concrete Pavements (RCCP)

This paper reports the results of a research study conducted to evaluate the effect of curing methods and compounds on flexural strength of Roller Compacted concrete Pavements (RCCP). Three types of curing compounds namely water, paraffin wax and chlorinated rubber were investigated in this study. These compounds were applied on the compacted concrete specimens. The effect of the selected curing materials on the properties of concrete specimens was evaluated by measuring flexural strength. The best performance was shown by concrete specimens cured by immersion in water. Application of curing compounds were also investigated and compared with the conditions of without curing. According to the results, using liquid membrane forming curing compounds causes increase of 15–27% in the flexural strength of RCCP specimens<\div>
