۱Dynamic mechanichal properties of biodegradable films based on chitosan and zein

The thermo–mechanical properties of chitosan (C), zein (Z) and chitosan–zein (CZ) composite films were investigated by dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA). Composite films were prepared by blending of chitosan and zein solutions at various compositional ratios and using of casting technique. For the composite films, there was no clear evidence of separate phase transitions of the individual polymeric constituents or a separate polyol phase. The results showed that composite films from blending of chitosan solution with zein solution had lower glass transition temperature (Tg) in comparison with individual polymeric constituents.<\div>

Effect of natural antimicrobial substances (aloe vera, honey propolis extract and chamomile essentialoil) ranging from 0 to 0.75% concentration incorporated into starch–based edible coating on theshelflife of tomatowas investigated at 25°C duringa period of 28 days. Incorporation of antimicrobialcompounds (honey propolis extract) into the edible coating prolonged microbiological andphysicochemical shelf life by more than 24 daysin comparison withother coatings andnon–coated freshtomato. However,significant (p<0.05) reduction of physicochemical shelflife was observed in firmnesscharacteristics According to the results, incorporated 0.75% of honey propolis extract into the coatingappeared to be a promising preservation alternative for fresh tomato because of having goodacceptance by trained adult panelists and inhibited microbial counts for both yeasts and molds.<\div>

۳Compare the effect of different Natural Native antimicrobial agents to Starch Based Coatings on Antimicrobial and Shelf life of Grape

In this study, we investigated the application of natural antimicrobial substances (aloe vera, Iranian aqua honey propolis extract and chamomile essential oil) ranging from 0 to 0.75% concentration incorporated into starch and carboxy methyl cellulose which was assessed as a potential protective coating in grape fruit at 25°C during a period of 28 days. Iranian aqua honey propolis extract as a natural antioxidant and antimicrobial agent prolonged microbiological and physicochemical shelf life by more than 24 days in comparison with other coatings and non–coated fresh grape. However, significant (p<0.05) reduction of physicochemical shelf life was observed in firmness characteristics and the lowest minimum inhibitory concentration values of antimicrobial agents were obtained for yeasts and molds of grape which honey propolis extract. According to the results, incorporated 0.75% of honey propolis extract into the coating appeared to be a promising preservation alternative for fresh grape because of having good acceptance by consumer and inhibited microbial counts for both yeasts and molds<\div>

۴Influence of Concentration of Salvia Macrosiphon Seed on the Properties of Edible Film from starch

In this study, we investigated the potential of Salvia macrosiphon seed mucilage (SSM) as a new source for preparation of edible films and determined the mechanical, barrier and thermal properties. Edible films were cast from heated aqueous solutions of corn starch (5% w\w) and Salvia macrosiphon 5%, 10%, 20%, and 30% w\w). By increasing salvia macrosiphon to 30% w\w concentration, ultimate tensile strength enhanced to 22 MPa, and elongation increased from 2.48% to 6.5%. The addition of salvia macrosiphon also improved gas barrier properties of the films. In films containing 2% salvia macrosiphon, WVP decreased from 6.69×10−7g\m.h.Pa to 1.10×10−7g\m.h.Pa and oxygen permeability declined to13.68 ml.day\m2. This study revealed that the new antimicrobial edible film had a good potential to be used for packaging of a wide range of food products.<\div>
