Earthquake vulnerability in urban areas is one of the most challenging problems for municipalities. The objective of this study is to predict the intensity of earthquake vulnerability in different areas of Tehran using fuzzy logic and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS). We considered governing parameters in the earthquake vulnerability such as distance of buildings from fire stations, gas stations and faults as well as buildings types, lifetime and the number of floors. We defined three triangular membership functions for each parameter, including: low, average and high. The functions were used as inputs for Mamdani’s fuzzy inference system and we defined fifteen rules in this fuzzy inference system. GIS was used to analyze, classify and organize the relevant spatial data. Although the output map of earthquake vulnerability has fuzzy values, but it is considered as unsuitable for interpretation. Therefore, we reclassified the output map into five classes so that each of them indicates the intensity of earthquake vulnerability in terms of linguistic values including: very low, low, average, high and very high. To sum up, the final resulted map shows the intensity of earthquake vulnerability in different areas of city.<\div>
