Recently, nanometer sized particles have been used in suspensions of conventional heat transfer fluids to enhance the heat transfer performance. The fluids with nanoparticles suspended in them are called "nanofluids". This review paper covers the published experimental studies on forced convective heat transfer characteristics of nanofluids. Investigations emphasize on the enhancement of heat transfer using suspensions of metallic or nonmetallic nanomaterials.<\div>

۲Pressure Drop of Nanofluid through a Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger

An experimental investigation was carried out to measure pressure drop of γ–Al2O3\water and TiO2\water nanofluids through a shell and tube heat exchanger. Nanofluid flows inside tubes while hot distilled water runs through shell. The measurements were done for a wide range of nanoparticle concentration and Reynolds number. Results emphasize on the lowering of pressure drop for nanofluids and more reduction happens at higher concentration.<\div>
