۱Effect of Nano Powder Fe2O3 on UV–Vis Spectroscopy of Sodium Silicate Glasses

In this study, the effect of various oxidation states of iron on optical spectroscopy of sodium silicate glasses has been investigated. So as, different amount of iron oxide were added as xFe2O3.Na2O.2SiO2 compound to sodium disilicate glasses and were melted in different temperatures Iron commonly exists as an equilibrium mixture of ferrous ions, 2+ Fe , and ferric ions, 3+ Fe , in glass. 3+ Fe ions shows strong absorption in UV light and yellow color is appeared, while 2+ Fe has an absorption band in NIR, consequently has blue color. With increasing ferric iron, amount of 3+ Fe ions will increase and yellow color develops. With increasing melting temperature of glass, amount of 2+ Fe ions will increase and bluish–green color develops. As a result, some variation has been observed in optical spectroscopy UVVis of produced glasses.<\div>

۲Semi–Conductive Glaze

Semi–conducting glaze has industrial use for high voltage insulators. We used this composition of glaze: 70% SiO2, 9% Al2O3, 4.5% (K,Na)2 0.9% CaO, 7.5% ZnO and 33% SnO2+Sb2O5 in this study. The electrical properties of tin oxide–based glazes varied with amount of SnO2+Sb2O5. The conductivity of glazes consisting of SnO2 in Sb–doped are in the range 102–105 V\cm. The glazes were free of mobile ions such as K, Na, Li and Pb. Conduction takes place between Sb–doped SnO2 particles concentrated in the fused contact region between the much larger glass particles<\div>
