The main objective of this paper is to help guide those interested in using variable frequency microwave (VFM) processing to improve porous materials drying process. Furthermore, the limitations in current understanding are included as a guide for potential users and future research and development activities. Meanwhile, experiments and generalized mathematical models conducted to evaluate the impact of different types of heat and mass transfer mode on drying characteristics of porous samples. The evolution of temperature, moisture content as well as the overall drying kinetics are obtained and discussed with various internal and external physical parameters.<\div>

The main aim of this project is to study the drying characteristics of wood. In the first part of this survey the results are presented in terms of classical theory of drying. In the second part, the color development of wood after drying is examined using spectrophotometers. An experimental dryer was developed for determining the moisture content of slab woods in variable drying times. Moisture contents were examined using different models. The drying data were fitted to the different semi–theoretical models such a Lewis, Page, new modified page, and Henderson and Pabis. Among the results obtained, the high level of correlation between the measured and calculated data justifies the new modified Page model.<\div>

۷Activated Carbon Nanofiber Production for the Removal of Pollutants

In the present work, activated carbon nanofibers were produced in three steps consist of electrospinning of Polyacrylonitrile solution in dimethyl formamide as a precursor, stabilization of the electrospun web and simultaneous carbonization and physical activation of the stabilized nanofibers inN₂ atmosphere. In each step, the optimum conditions were selected by changing the effective parameters. In electrospinning process, parameters including concentration, applied voltage and feeding rate on precursor diameter and final webs uniformity were studied by SEM. The effects ofstabilization parameters such as temperature, dwelling time and heating rate on the extent of stabilization reaction were evaluated using FTIR and DSC techniques. Porosity and surface structure of the produced activated carbon nanofibers were analyzed using nitrogen adsorption measurements.Results revealed that specific surface area, porosity and total pore volume of obtained activated carbon nanofibers enhanced during the physical activation. ۸CUBIC B–SPLINE APPROXIMATION METHOD FOR 3D SIMULATION OF ELECTROSPUN NANOFIBER JET

To optimize electrospinning process, the B–spline collocation methods and a new ODEs solver based on B–spline quasi–interpolation are developed. The problem consists of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. To solve the system of ODE, a 3D simulation obtained by applying quartic B–spline collocation method. To achieve this, the Reneker's model (i.e. bead–spring model) applied and the governing equations were numerically simulated by new ODEs solver without using perturbation equations in x and y directions. Most likely, this technique can represent the results the random perturbation. The results show that it could be possible to build mathematically a real–time simulation<\div>
