۱Morphological Study of Bitumen Modified with Petrochemical Waste

In this study we investigate the microstructure and mechanical properties of modified bitumen with petrochemical waste. For achieving this, heavy end waste was distillated and remained solid waste used as modifying agent to study the mechanical characteristics of 60\70 grade bitumen from Tehran refinery. The thermal stability of these solid wastes has been investigated over the temperature ranges 170–190 °C required for their blending via hot mixing. Analysis confirmed their stability of the waste in this range with any considerable loss of weight. The microstructure of the blends has been followed by optical microscopy, the effect of solid waste from 1 to 5 wt.% in bitumen blend on mechanical properties such as softening point and penetration addition of modifier is reported and discussed<\div>

In this research, mechanical properties of multi–walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) reinforced epoxy polysulfide resin have been evaluated. For achieving this goal, different weight percentages of MWNT (0.1,0.2,0.3 wt %) were dispersed in epoxy polysulfide resin and then mixed with curing agent. Mechanical properteis such as tensile strength, tensile modulus, elongation at break was determined and increase in the modulus of epoxy polysulfide was obtained.
