In this study, the tribological behavior of polyetheretherketon (PEEK) composite reinforced with short carbon fibers (20 vol. %) and nano–SiO2 particles (2 wt.% ) were examined. The composites were fabricated by melt–mixing process at 400°C. The polymer was in granulate shape and the original lengthof short carbon fibers was 6mm and the nano–SiO2 particles size was 13nm.The role of nano–SiO2 on tribological properties of PEEK\SCF composite was investigated. Tribological tests were carried out using pin–on–disk apparatus at room temperature in wide pressure range. In order to investigate the wearmechanisms involved in different tribological conditions, SEM observations were performed. Under all condition studied, the nano–SiO2 particles remarkably reduced the friction coefficients. In terms of wear rates, there was a strong dependence on the applied pressure.<\div>
