۱Study the Consistency of k–ε and Smagorinsky Models in Simulation of Circular Cylinder

Turbulent flows around a cylinder with variant cross sections are one of the complex phenomena with special characteristics like stream lines with intense curvature, separation from cylinder and production of vortices with unstable structures. Generally, we should use extra equations for simulation of these flows. These extra equations are totally divided to two major methods: Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier Stocks (URANS) and Large Eddy Simulation (LES). Before any modeling, we should simulate standard geometries, which are used in the latest experimental researches to study the effects of turbulent models on simulation flows. In this research, we study the effects of two turbulence models, Smagorinsky and k  , as basic models in LES and URANS for simulation of a single circular cylinder. Smagorinsky model has shown a better performance because LES models can keep thefeatures of flow unsteadiness, and it is able to do better simulations and to predict more accurate aerodynamics parameters than k  compare to experimental data<\div>
