This paper presents an adaptive identifier based algorithm for online estimation of damping factor and frequency of an exponentially damped sinusoidal signal. Local stability analysis of the proposed method is presented using averaging theory. Simulation results confirm the analytical derivations and also the desirable performance of the proposed algorithm.<\div>

Distribution of deteriorating items is different from other items. This issue leads distributors to transport with lower volumes. On the other hand, one of the mechanisms that attract buyers to purchase items is discount; but a larger amount of order has a lower price for one item but has a higher risk of deterioration. Despite the importance of issue, previous researches on deteriorating items did not consider discount conditions in designing supply chain network. Hence, in this paper, balancing between the cost of ordering and the cost of deterioration with consideration of discount through a new model is studied. The problem is solved for numerical examples with an improved meta–heuristic composed of simulated annealing (SA) and genetic algorithm (GA) and results are reported. Furthermore, a heuristic method for small scale problems is represented and compared with the introduced algorithm to analyze the performance of method. Finally, results show a significant difference between the costs of the models (with discount and without it).

This paper studies joint economic lot–sizing problem (JELS) for a single vendor–single buyer system while demand is dependent on selling price. This problem is modeled for geometric shipment policy and a solution procedure is developed to find a well approximation of the global optimal solution of the problem. Since the equal size shipment policy or geometric shipment policy may yield more joint profit compared to each other, the most important factor that affects the break–even–point of geometric and equal–size policies is determined. The JELS problem for dependent demand is also modeled for geometric–then–equal size and optimal shipment policies. Solution procedures to find a well approximation of the global optimum of each problem are also developed for these models. The models and solution procedures for geometric, geometric–then–equal size and shipment policies are novel in the literature. Numerical results of the models show considerable improvement in the joint profit of the chain compared to lot–for–lot and equal–size shipment policies for chains with price–sensitive demand and could be very interesting for supply chain coordinators and practitioners.
