The thermo–fluid characteristic of an unbounded plane turbulent jet is numerically studied in this research. A numerical method employing control volume approach with collocated grid arrangement which coupled the velocity and pressure fields with SIMPLEC algorithm is introduced to discrete the governing equations of flow and energy. The turbulent stresses are approximated using e – k and f v2 – models. Turbulence quantities, velocity and temperature fields are presented and the rates of their decay at jet centerline are noted. Also the velocity vectors of a main flow and secondary flow are illustrated. Comparison of results with experimental data showed the better adaptation of e – k model. Indeed as a result of interaction of fluid layers which are not moving at the same velocity, the turbulence production is so high that the e – k model is in very good agreement with real results.<\div>
