The present study is an attempt to discover the relationship between Translation Quality Index (TQI) and Error Analysis Method in teaching translation. Teachers are interested in finding the source of errors that will assist them in raising the consciousness of their students and help the students improve their learner status, so they should use TQI, a quantitative–based method of translation quality assessment that measures the number and type of errors found in a text. As a matter of fact, teachers face with various difficulties, because there are no standard criteria for assessing the translation. According to TQI model of Schiaffino and Zearo(2002), it is difficult to improve something if you cannot measure it. This research takes into account all translation quality assessment method of Waddington, Williams, House and Osimo. The finding revealed that, there is a close relationship between error analysis and TQI, because when measuring translation quality, we really measure the various type of errors in the translated text; a good translation is one in which fewer errors are made. It can be concluded that, every teacher as an assessor should be applying the TQI on the micro–level (constituent parts of a text) not on the text as a whole<\div>

Translating poems is one of the most challenging tasks that demand both knowledge of literature and skill in the use of language (L1 and L2). The figurative language with the various types of rhythm and rhyme can be an obstruction in the transference of structure and meaning into the target language. Many scholars are of the opinion that translating a poem is as good as creating a new one. For the purpose of the study, English translations of poems by Persian poets such as Hafiz, Khayyam and Shamloo are taken into consideration. Furthermore, two different Persian translations of Cristina Georgina Rossetti’s poems are also examined. The translatability of the texts under study was based upon of Katharina Reiss’s theory. According to her theory, one of the textual functions is Expressive; a higher level of literary text such as poetry in which the target text (TT) should aim at recreating the effect that the author of the ST was striving to achieve. This study reveals that a translator of a poem is normally endowed with a potential and intrinsic quality creative enough to recreate another poem with the original sense by communicating the spirit of the message to the receptor.<\div>
