۱Kinetic Study for Decomposition of the Cyclohexanone Proton Bound Dimer Using Ion Mobility Spectrometry

In this study, the rate constant for the decomposition reaction of cyclohexanone dimer was calculated using ion mobility spectrometry (IMS). In this regard, the ion mobility spectrum of cyclohexanone was obtained at various temperatures and electric fields. The sample was introduced to the ionization region of IMS and its reaction with reactant ions was explored. In the ionization source, it can be formed dimer ions in addition to monomer ions due to the high concentration of cyclohexanone. Suitable temperature was selected for decomposition of the dimer ions in the drift tube, resulted in formation of a tail between the monomer and dimer peaks in mobility spectrum. The best range of temperature for obtaining the appropriate tail was 463–483 K. In this study, the rate constant values measured in 463, 468, 473, 478 and 483 K were 188.24, 180.54, 280.64, 288.34 and 379.6 s–1, respectively.<\div>
