۱Comparative study on extraction of Iranian Sweet lime (citrus .limettioides) essence using cold press and hydrodistillation method

Experimental data for essential oil of Citrus.limettioides cultivated in Iran using cold press and hydrodistillation extraction methods are reported. The oils were analyzed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. The effect of centrifuge speed in cold press extraction of Citrus.limettioides was investigated. The effects of fresh peels and dried peels in hydrodistilled oil were also tested. The major components of Citrus.limettioides were limonene, α–pinene, β–pinene, linalool and linalyl acetate. The extraction yield of hydrodistillation based on fresh peels was 0.89%(w\w),while extraction yield based on cold press was 0.82%(w\w).Percentage of oxygenated compounds that are effective in oil’s odor , is more in cold press method<\div>

۲Regeneration of punica granatum cv. ‘Youssef Khany’ plants from different juvenile explants

Reliable and reproducible protocols to get healthy and well formed plants from juvenile explants of the pomegranate ( Punica granatum L.) cv. ‘Youssef Khany’ have been developed. Calli were initiated from cotyledon, hypocotyl, leaf and internode sections excised from 30 days old in vitro germinated seedlings. The best media for callus induction from cotyledon, hypocotyl, internode and leaf explants were MS medium supplemented with 13.0 μM NAA and 13.5 μM BA, 13.0 μM NAA and 18.0 μM BA, 5.0 μM IBA and 9.0 μM BA, 8.0 μM NAA and 9.0 μM kinetin, respectively. The highest percentage of callus was obtained from cotyledon explants (85.50) followed by hypocotyl (79.67), internode (79.47) and leaf (75.48) explants. The calli thus obtained showed differentiation on MS medium supplemented with 9.0 μM BA and 2.5 μM NAA. Cotyledon derived callus showed the highest regenerationrate (81.97%, with mean number of 16.47 shoots per explant) followed by hypocotyl, internode and leaf derived calli. In vitro rooting was best on half strength MS medium containing 500 mg l – 1 of activated charcoal. The plantlets with well formed root systems were transferred to plastic cups containing cocopeat followed by transfer to earthen pots containing soil and sand (1:1).<\div>

۳SHOOT PROLIFERATION AND PLANT REGENERATION FROME COTYLEDONARY NODES OF (Punica granatum L.) cv. ‘Youssef Khany’

A complete protocol is presented for in vitro regeneration of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) cv. ‘Youssef Khany’ a tropical fruit tree, using cotyledonary nodes derived from axenic seedlings. Shoot development was induced from cotyledonary nodes on Murashige and Skoog (1962) (MS) medium supplemented with 2.3–23.0μM benzyladenine (BAP) or kinetin (Kin). Both type and concentration of cytokinin significantly influenced shoot proliferation. The maximum number of shoots (9.8 shoots\explant) was developed on a medium containing 9.0 μM BA. Shoot culture was established by repeatedly sub culturing the original cotyledonary node on a fresh batch of the same medium after each harvest of the newly formed shoots. In vitro raised shoots were cut into nodal segments and cultured on a fresh medium for further multiplication. Thus, from a single cotyledonary node about 30–35 shoots were obtained in 60 days. Shoots formed in vitro were rooted on half–strength MS supplemented with 0.054–5.4 μM naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA). However, a medium containing 0.54 μM NAA resulted in the highest per cent rooting of shoots and significantly higher number of roots than other concentrations. Plantlets were successfully acclimated and established in soil.<\div>

۴Seismic Performance of Reinforced Concrete Frame Buildings Designed by Iranian Seismic Code

In this paper, the seismic performance of a multi–story reinforced concrete frame building has been studied. A typical reinforced concrete moment–resisting frame building was designed according to the current Iranian seismic code (IS 2800–14). Seven earthquake records were selected and scaled based on IS 2800–14 requirements. In order to assess the seismic vulnerability of the case study structure, nonlinear static (push–over) analysis and nonlinear dynamic time–history analysis have been conducted. The performance has been evaluated based on both the member and global level criteria. Comparison between push–over and nonlinear analyses results shows a relatively good consistency. The numerical results additionally show that the case–study building frames designed by IS 2800–14 satisfy the intended code requirements and meet the inter–story drift and maximum plastic rotation demands suggested byGuide 360 (Instruction for Seismic Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings).
