A novel ligand, 2–amino–4–choloro–6–[(z)–phnyldiazenyl]phenol and zinc complexes were synthesized and characterized using elemental analyses, FT–IR spectrometry. The structure of the free ligand and its complexe was characterized by using elemental analysis IR spectra and 1HNMR, 13CNMR spectra. ZnO nanopowders have been obtained by calsination of the compounds at 650 °C and characterized by FT–IR, XRD and SEM.<\div>

۲Synthesis and charactreization of azo and Schiff base new compounds based on 2–amino 3– hydroxi pyridine and their complexes with Co ls and investigation of their conversion to nano materials

2–Amino–3–Hydroxy Pyridine (AHP) was reacted with aniline in the presence of (NaNO2) and concentrated HCl and NaOH(10%) to produce azo compounds(–N=N–). The new Schiff base compounds were prepared by the reaction of them with two different aromatic aldehides, namely: therphetaldehide and 5–bromosalicylealdehide. The new complexes of Co(II)acetate have been synthesized and characterized in water and alcohol. The thermal stability of nano–structure Co( II ) was studied by thermal gravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analyses (DTA). CoO nano powders have been optained by calsinations of the compounds at 750°C for 2h and characterized by FT–IR spectroscopy, X–ray powder determined and SEM.<\div>
