۱Weighted Least Squares Algorithm for State Estimation of Distribution Networks Integrating PMUs

Over the past twenty years, power grids industry in many countries has been improving. In this situation, the function of state estimation is becoming more important, because it is the main tool to monitor and control based on real–time data received from the measurement units. Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) are very important devices for monitoring and controling of power systems. By installing PMUs in power systems, the voltage magnitude and angle values can be measured directly and have higher accuracy compared to other conventional measurements such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). In this paper, state estimation results are calculated by the Weighted Least Square (WLS) method to achieve the accurate measurements in power system. The method is implemented and tested on IEEE–14 bus system to demonstrate the validity of WLS method.<\div>

Optical transmitters in optical communication systems send information in a channel more than that of radio systems due to high optical carrier frequency which leads to saving energy and reducing costs. For full utilization of the optical technology capabilities, one must use cross layer design. View of cross layer for wavelength routed optical networks have been provided and is considered because it causes increase data speeds, decrease distance wavelengths and very long optical paths. A challenge arising from growing speed and distance in optical communication which can be solved hardly by the classic layer method is constraints related to the physical layer. The aim is to optimize routing and wavelength in optical communication networks. If there are multiple paths between two networks, routing algorithms are needed to find the best route. Due to signal degradation factors and optical network equipments, the quality of the optical path is affected. Therefore it is recommended that routing optimization evaluated from both the network layer performance and the physical layer performance and the best routing optimization should be chosen based on the overall performances. In this paper, the impact of physical layer impairments on the routing and wavelength allocation for different routing methods is evaluated with regard to both network and physical layers performances. finally, a routing algorithm which leads to lower costs and saving in network equipments, is presented.<\div>

Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) are very important devices for monitoring and control of power systems. The most advantage of PMUs is giving real time and synchronized measurements. Due to high installation cost of PMUs, it is necessary to minimize the number of PMUs to determine the power system observability. To solve the Optimal Placement Problem (OPP), Heuristic, Meta– Heuristic and Deterministic algorithms have been proposed. This paper considers different popular algorithms for Optimal Placement of PMUs and due to the vast number of publications in this field the most proper articles are reviewed.<\div>
