One way to limit short circuit currents in distribution networks is using Superconducting Fault Current Limiters (SFCL).Resistive type SFCL (RSFCL) is a nonlinear resistance in which is installed in series with the circuit breakers in distribution networks In case of a short circuit fault , its resistance increases to a certain value automatically to limit the short circuit fault currents to a lower level in which the circuit breakers can handle . In this paper , we investigated the application scheme of Resistive type SFCL in 20 KV side of the 63.20 KV West Ardabil Distribution Substation when a symmetrical three phase short circuit fault are occurred because in more conditions symmetrical three phase short circuit faults have the highest short circuit current levels . we have studied using Resistive type SFCL in three position as installed in loads lines, in transformers lines and in tie bus.<\div>
