Geometry and operation of a Primary microbubble generator, an industrial naval apparatus used for drag reduction, was optimized according to numerical analysis. In primary cylindrical model water–air enters the device via six diagonal nozzles, passing a rotational trace around central motionless rod; air particles are broken up to tiny bubbles which are used to decrease the frictional drag in common surface of water and moving solid bodies. To improve the operation of the apparatus, proposed geometrical shapes were investigated numerically and optimized based on bubbles breaking–up effective parameters. The experimental results illustrated high efficiency in operation of the recent apparatus.<\div>

۲Process Optimization in Deep Drilling

Chatter vibration in deep drilling is investigated. A model is prepared to define the stability lobs according to feed rate and spindle speed. Then a detailed discussion for finding ways of performing faster operation is done. Effects of tool length on chatter stability lobs are determined, and then different process optimization methods due to this parameters are investigated. It was shown that step drilling with different tool lengths is a good way to avoid regenerative chatter and do the operation faster.<\div>

A two DOF model for simulating chatter vibration in drilling based on gyroscopic effect due to rotating of the tool and effect of the damping characteristics of flank surface is investigated. The equation is simplified to an eigenvalue problem to find the limits of stability. MATLAB DDE Solver is used to define the tool’s motion. This model can determine the hole form. Different parameters can be added further to find more accurate answers. This model has the ability to analyze the effect of different process damping applications. Results had a good agreement with experimental data.<\div>
