Processed municipal solid waste (MSW) and industrial waste are being used in waste–to–energy plants nd as an alternative fuel in industrial processes. In this study, fesibility of RDF production from municipal solid waste of Shiraz and its application in Fars Cement Factory as an laternative fuel was studied. Shiraz with the population of 1.5 million generates about 1200 tons MSW per day with elemental analysis of: putrescible 67.7% plastic 8%, paper and cardboard 4.6% glass 2.2% metal 1.3%, and nonrecoverable material 14.4% Regarding to waste composition, different alternatives of RDF production are investigated and the best option is selected considering economic, environmental and technical aspects. Economic analysis is carried out to find the effectiveness of RDF replacement with conventional fuel in cement factory. The result show that in the cse of RDF producing from prtrescible and plastic wastes and reqlcing it with 10% of consument heavy crude oil, the daily expenditure of cement production in Fars cement factory decreases about 7500$. In addition, the rate of transferred waste to Lanfill also reduces about 240 tons per day.<\div>
