In this paper, we consider the following Schrodinger–Kirchho–type problem –(a + b RRN jruj2dx 4u + V (x)u = g(x; u); for x 2 RN, u(x) ! 0; as jxj ! 1, (1.1) where constants a > 0; b 0, N = 1; 2 or 3, V 2 C(RN;R), g 2 C(RN R;R). Under more relaxed assumptions on g(x; u), by using some special techniques, a new existence result of in nitely many energy solutions is obtained via Symmetric Mountain Pass Theorem.

۲Non–Nehari manifold method for a semilinear Schrodinger equation with critical Sobolev exponent

We consider the semilinear Schr¨ odinger equationwhere N ≥ 4, 2∗ := 2N\(N −2) is the critical Sobolev exponent, V,K,f is 1–periodic in xj for j = 1,...,N, f(x,u) is subcritical growth. We develop a direct approach to find ground state solutions of Nehari–Pankov type for the above problem. The main idea is to find a minimizing Cerami sequence for the energy functional outside the Nehari–Pankov manifold by using the diagonal method.

۳Indoor Non–directed Optical Wireless Communications – Optimization of the Lambertian Order

For an indoor non–directed line of sight optical wireless communication (NLOS–OWC) system we investigate the optimized Lambertian order (OLO) of light–emitting diodes (LEDs). We firstly derive an expression for the OLO from a conventional Lambertian LED model. Then, we analyze the indoor multi–cell NLOS–OWC channel characteristics including the optical power distribution and the multipath time dispersion for two cases of one–cell and four–cell configurations. Furthermore, we estimate the transmission bandwidth by simulating the channel frequency response. Numerical results presented show that, by using OLO a significant improvement of the transmission bandwidth can be achieved for an indoor NLOS–OWC system, in particular, for multi–cell configurations.

۴Wind power of small wind turbines in turbulent open jets

Open jet wind tunnel testing provides an alternative solution to expensive online wind power measurements for researchers and small wind turbine developers. However, there is a lack of knowledge for high Reynolds number and large diameter jet flows. In this paper, the structure of circular open jet flows is reviewed. Theories and experimental correlations are combined to extend our understanding of fully developed turbulent jets. Analytical relations are derived to calculate the correct wind power of the jets. The corresponding reduction in power generated by small wind turbines is explained. The effects of various parameters on the power production of a small wind turbine, such as the jet diameter, the distance of the wind turbine from the jet nozzle and the wind turbine hub diameter, are investigated and the results are discussed.
