The synthesis of mesoporous MCM–41 silica at low temperature under basic conditions using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) is reported. MSM–41 samples were prepared with different synthesis temperature and under hydrothermal operation. Samples were characterized by low angle X–ray diffraction, SEM and TEM analyses. It is shown that synthesis temperature and hydrothermal operation affected the SiO2 yield, morphology and particle size of the MCM–41 samples<\div>

In this paper, the influence of aging (hydrothermal) time and temperature on the characteristics of SBA–15 mesoporous silica materials. The results indicated SBA–15 sample obtained at short–time ripening of 4 hour (hr) contained more silanol groups that two–dimensional (2–D) hexagonal SBA–15 mesoporous structure than the conventional SBA–15 material (24 hr). As well, the sample synthesized after 4 hr of ripening at 40°C followed by 24 hr of hydrothermal operation at 100ºC, demonstrated enhancement of 2–D hexagonal order compared to other samples. The synthesized material was characterized using small angle XRD, SEM, TEM and BET techniques<\div>
