The main objective of this study is to fabricate nanofibrous poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) composite membranes for use in separation of oil in water emulsions. For this purpose, a thin layer of PVA nanofibers was coated on the surface of a polyethersulfone (PES) membrane as support layer by electrospinning technique. The PES ultrafiltration membrane was prepared by nonsolvent–induced phase inversion method and the PVA layer of composite membranes was cross–linked using citric acid as cross–linking agent. The experimental results indicated that the electrospinning of PVA on the PES ultrafiltration membranes improved the hydrophilicity of the membrane and the electrospun nanofibrous composite membranes had higher permeation oil\water flux and lower fouling tendency.<\div>

۲nano nax zeolite x\poly (ether –block–amide)\polyethersulfone mixed matrix membrane for gas separation

In this study, the mixed matrix membranes of PEBA\NaX zeolite were by solvent evaporation method for gas separation application. The effects of nano NaX zeolite loading on the N2 and CO2 permeation were investigated. The zeolite nanoparticles were synthesis by hydrothermal method using microwave heating and characterized by the XRD analysis. The SEM analysis showed that the zeolite nanoparticle well dispersed in the PEBA matrix. The experimental results revealed that incorporation of nano NaX zeolite to PEBA membranes decreased the N2 and CO2 permeabilities due to the barrier effect of the zeolite particle, while the CO2\N2 ideal selectivity significantly enhanced. It can be concluded that the addition of zeolite nanoparticle into the PEBA matrix had considerable effect on the membrane structure and separation properties<\div>
