Several preparation methods have been developed for the synthesis of sodalite membranes, such as
conventional hydrothermal and microwave methods. Sodalite has a six–membered ring aperture with a pore
size of 2.8 Å. Only small molecules, such as helium and hydrogen can enter the pore of sodalite. The
investigations have shown that sodalite membranes have high performance on separation of hydrogen
molecules from gas streams containing hydrocarbone in comparision with small size gas molecules.<\div>

MFI zeolite membrane was synthesized on tubular α–Al2O3 Porous support via secondary growth
hydrothermal method. Structural properties and performance of the manufactured membrane were
investigated by X–Ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and gas permeation. The
obtained results confirmed the formation of MFI zeolite membranes with relatively fine performance in H2
\N2 gas mixture separation.<\div>

۴Improvement of SMA–NiTi Sintering by Thermally Treated of Titanium Powder under Hydrogen Atmosphere

Powder metallurgy (PM) methods have been used for production of near net shape parts of NiTi shape memory alloys (NiTi SMAs) during last two decades. The main drawback of the methods is formation of undesirable components and intermetallics such as NiTi2, Ni3Ti and oxide phases. These compounds affect on shape memory, superelasticity and mechanical properties of NiTi parts. In this work, it is attempted to improve the production of NiTi parts by thermally treated of titanium powder under hydrogen atmosphere. X–ray diffraction (XRD) patterns have shown that the annealing temperatures of titanium powder less than 400°C reduces the oxide phase amount specially Ni3Ti3O after sintering of titanium and nickel powders. The best result was obtained for titanium powder that heat treated in 300°C for 5h. In this condition, the peaks related to NiTi are appeared as the main peaks in the XRD pattern. Micrographs of the specimens by scanning electron microscope (SEM) confirm the XRD results. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) curves of the specimen show distinct peaks during heating and cooling cycles.<\div>

۵Synthesis and characterization of nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite powder via sol–gel method

Nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite (HAP) powder was synthesized by a non–alkoxide sol–gelmethod. The prepared powder was characterized with STA, X–ray diffraction, Zetasizer and SEMmicroscopy. The effect of aging for 24h and heating time at 550 C on crystallity, crystallite andparticle size were studied through XRD, zetasizer and SEM. Results showed that the powder obtainedafter heating at 550 C for 6h was composed of pure HAP with the estimated crystallite size andparticle size of 9.3 nm and 503.6 nm.<\div>

۶PTES MODIFIED SILICA FILMS; SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION

The present paper describes dip coated water repellent silica coatings on the glass substrates using phenyltriethoxysilane (PTES) as a co–precursor, tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) as a precursor, ethanol (EtOH) as a solvent and ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH) as a catalyst via sol–gel method. In order to study the influence of the modifying agent on the hydrophobic properties of the silica films, the molar ratio of PTES\TEOS (H) was varied between 0.05 and 1.2. The static water contact angle values of the silica coatings increased up to 133º with an increase in the H value from 0 to 0.05. However, with further increase in H value, the water contact angle and surface modification decreased whereas the size of nanoparticles increased from 36 to 45 nm. The hydrophobic silica films were characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR),contact angle measurement (CA), and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE–SEM) images.<\div>
