Titanium oxide of 2,5,10 and 15wt% was supported on H–ZSM–5 zeolite using solid state dispersion
(SSD) method. The photocatalytic activity of these systems in the degradation of safranin–o indicates that
TiO2 \ HZSM–5 is an active photocatalyst for degradation of dye; the optimum photodegradation activity is
observed at 10wt% of TiO2\HZSM–5. Based on this result, immobilized [TiO2\HZSM–5] can be used in
treatments of water containing safranin–o.<\div>

۲Evaluation of Carbon Nanotubes as Solid–Phase Extraction Sorbent for the Removal of Cephalosporins from Aqueous Solution

Surface hydrophobicity is one of the most important chemical properties of carbon nanotubes which caus es a wide range of materials and compounds adsorption on the surface of these nano structures. In this work, by considering this characteristic of carbon nanotubes, their ability in adsorption of cephalosporin’s antibiotics at the trace level from aqueous solution has been tested. Samples were strongly adsorbed by carbon nanotubes and acceptable recovery was obtained. Analyses of samples were carried out by help of high performance liquid chromatography and ultra violet. To find out the retention capabilities of cephalosporin’s on carbon nanotubes, constant amount of each analyte was added to different volumes up to 100ml and removed by sorbent. Comparing studies between carbon nanotube and silica gel showed higher sorption power of carbon nanotubes to silica gel in extracting of cephalosporin. Recoveries of spiked sample analysis ranged from 50 to100%.<\div>
