۱Study on the synthesis methods of sodalite membranes and their performance on the gas separation processes

Several preparation methods have been developed for the synthesis of sodalite membranes, such as
conventional hydrothermal and microwave methods. Sodalite has a six–membered ring aperture with a pore
size of 2.8 Å. Only small molecules, such as helium and hydrogen can enter the pore of sodalite. The
investigations have shown that sodalite membranes have high performance on separation of hydrogen
molecules from gas streams containing hydrocarbone in comparision with small size gas molecules.<\div>

۲Synthesis and Performance of Tubular MFI membrane

MFI zeolite membrane was synthesized on tubular α–Al2O3 Porous support via secondary growth
hydrothermal method. Structural properties and performance of the manufactured membrane were
investigated by X–Ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and gas permeation. The
obtained results confirmed the formation of MFI zeolite membranes with relatively fine performance in H2
\N2 gas mixture separation.<\div>

۳Hydroisomerization of n–pentane over Pt\ZSM–5 Nanocatalyst

Na–ZSM–5 zeolite was prepared and characterized by XRD, SEM, BET, Particle Size Analyser and EDAX. Bifunctional catalysts based on acidified ZSM–5 and platinum as metal function wassynthesized. Furthermore, hydroisomerization of n–pentane over platinum promoted acids zeolites was studied and the effect of reaction conditions on the conversion and yield of isomerization was investigated. It was observed that conversion and yield of isomerization increases with increasingpressure. However with increasing partial pressure of Hydrogen, conversion and yield of isomerization decreased<\div>

Synthesis of sulfated zirconia nanopowders using the polyacrylamide gel method was carried out.An assessment of the influence of the calcinations temperature (500–650 C) and sulfate ion (SO42–) loading on the properties of SO4 2––ZrO2 was performed and characterized using X–ray diffraction(XRD), spectroscopy electron microscopy (SEM) techniques.FTIR analysis was used to confirm the presence of sulfate groups. Our experimental results showed that tetragonal phase crystalline structure appeared for all the catalysts calcined at 500–650 C and also proprties of sulfated zirconia is affected by amount of sulfate ion loading.<\div>

۵Synthesis and characterization of nanostructure Pt\ZSM–5 for catalytic applications

Reformulated gasoline must maintain a high–octane rating with reduced aromatic and olefin content. In the production of gasoline from naphtha, C5 and C6 n–paraffin’s are typically isomerizes to their branched isomers, which have a higher octane rating. ZSM–5 zeolites are the well–known solid acid catalysts and have been widely used in the fuel–upgrading and production of many petrochemicals, due to its unique structures, thermal stability, acidity and shape selectivity.In this work, Na–ZSM–5 zeolite was successfully synthesized via hydrothermal method at relatively low crystallization time. The Pt–promoted ZSM–5 with nominal loading of 1 wt% wereprepared by impregnation method. The obtained catalyst samples were characterized by XRD,SEM, EDAX, UV and FTIR analysis. X–ray diffraction and FTIR results confirmed the formation of ZSM–5 crystal and scanning electron microscopy images revealed the morphology of the prepared zeolite<\div>

In this work, NaA zeolite membrane were synthesized via hydrothermal method and characterized by X–ray diffraction (XRD). The successful application of A–type zeolite membranes in theindustrial market has thus far been restricted to the pervaporative dehydration of solvent streams inengineering industries. This paper presents the results of research aimed at characterizing the behavior of NaA zeolite membrane, accompanied by the effect of different parameter on the selectivity of the prepared membranes using experimental design Taguchi method.<\div>

۷Performance of Nanocomposite Hydroxy Sodalite–Palladium Membrane for the Separation of Hydrogen from n–Pentane

In this work, nanocomposite hydroxy sodalite–palladium membrane was prepared by ion–exchange method on the outer surface of porous tubular α–alumina support. Synthesized membrane wascharacterized by XRD, SEM and EDX analysis methods. The results of XRD and SEM analysesconfirmed successful synthesis of defect free hydroxy sodalite zeolite membrane on the support surface. The results of EDX analyses showed that Na, Pd and Si ions were distributed uniformly in the prepared nanocomposite membrane structure. Performance of the prepared membrane in the separation ofhydrogen from condensable hydrocarbons like n–Pentane was investigated and permselectivity values of 8–10 were obtained<\div>

۸Preparation of the modified ceramic nanocomposite supports at low sintering temperature

In this work, a simple and effective way to modify the support surface is developed and a nanostructure ceramic support to facilitate deposition of a defect–free overlying micro and meso (nano) porous membrane is obtained. ceramic membranes supports were prepared by gel–casting mehtod and the surface of membrane supports were coated with dip–coating method. Multidispersed suspensions of _alumina–zirconia and _alumina–zirconia–silica nanopowders wereprepared for dip–coating. The obtained XRD and SEM results confirmed the formation of smooth and uniform nanocomposite layer on the outer surface of the non–modified supports with the presence of silica nanopowders at low sintering temperature (650 ºC). However, in the absence ofsilica nanopowders, this kind of nanocomposite layers did not form on the non–modified supports surface, even at high sintering temperature (750 ºC). Also, XRD pattern showed that tetragonal zirconia phase did not transform to monoclinic phase at low sintering temperature which can be important in the formation of nanocomposite layers with a desirable crystalline structure<\div>

۹MERCAPTAN REMOVAL FROM CONDENSATE USING ZEOLITE ADSORBENTS

In this study, the removal of mercaptan from condensate from Ilam Refinery was investigated by using adsorption on the ion–exchanged x–zeolites in a batch system. Batch experiments were performed to evaluate the influence of parameters like adsorbent dosage, contact time, concentration of the adsorbate and temperature. It was observed that adsorption of mercaptan followed pseudo second order kinetics in both the cases. Adsorption data fitted well with the Langmuir andFreundlich models. However, Langmuir isotherm displayed a better fitting. The results revealed that the mercaptan is considerably adsorbed on ion–exchanged zeolites and it could be an economical method for the removal of mercaptan from condensate<\div>
