۱Synthesis and characterization of the ZSM–5 zeolites with different Si\Al ratios

MFI–type zeolites (ZSM–5) were a wide application as an adsorbent and catalyst. In this study ZSM–5
zeolites were synthesized with a common laboratory instrument and careful procedure of heating and
crystallization. Hydrogel were prepared from silicic acid and sodium aluminate with silicon to aluminum
molar ratios (Si\Al) in range of 14.5–87 by altering the aluminum content of the synthesis precursors.
Tetrapropylammonium hydroxide was used as template. zeolites were calcinated under air atmosphere at
825K in oven. Zeolites identification and characterization were performed by FT–IR, XRD, SEM.<\div>

ZSM–5 zeolite with similar Si\Al ratio were synthesized successfully using various templates ( nbutylamine
(BTA), Tetrapropyl ammonium hydroxide (TPAOH), Tetrapropyl ammonium bromide (TPABr),
Ethylenediamine (EDA), isopropylamine (IPA) and no template (NT)) under hydrothermal conditions. The
samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, FT–IR, in order to understand the template effect and the
difference of ZSM–5 samples. The syntheses of ZSM–5 with organic templates were relatively easier than
without template. SEM result revealed that ZSM–5 with different templates had different morphology and
particle size.<\div>
