Water is used in most process industries for a wide range of applications. The optimum water usage network leads to a minimum freshwater consumption and wastewater treatment. This paper presents a mathematical formulation for freshwater and wastewater minimization in process plants with single contaminant. In the case of single contaminant the minimization of wastewater is achieved through the exploitation of reuse and regeneration–recycle opportunities. A superstructure that entails all the possible recycle and reuse possibilities is used as the basis for the formulation. The optimization programming can be formulated as a linear programming (LP) problem. The solution to this problem will result in the minimum freshwater consumption. Lingo software is used for optimization. The graphic user interface (GUI) was created in order to make the program easy and convenient. After a user inputs the process condition of the problem into the blank form of GUI, the program will formulate the optimization model and solve for the solution automatically. Then, the optimum results are returned to the user. Water network can be designed Whit these results.<\div>
